What type of car towwing dolly is this?
You know how there's them normal dollies that you just park the front wheels on and strap it down...
Well what's this type of dolly that's like the next step up from them? It looked like a car axlewith a neck extended foreward to connect to the ball hitch, it had a bar going up from one side, over head, and down to the other side. and it had chains and rubber straps suspended between the axle and overhead structures for suspending the vehichle...
I've searched the web up and down and can't find anything like this...

If it looks like it used a suspended system, it's probably home made. Vulcan towing equipment used to manufacture a tow truck system called a cradle snatcher, long before wheel lifts or flat beds. Maybe somebody used either the idea or parts from one to make what you have. Hope this helped a bit.
